How to make plugins, Corel Psp X6 and older Psp versions work in Windows 8 64 bit!

This revelation has done a great miracle for me! I was able to install all Paint Shop Pro versions in Windows 8 64-bit, even the Corel Psp X6 32-bit version. And last but not least: all my plugins are being recognised! Follow this tutorial carefully in order to have a good installation process.

  1. If you have installed Corel Psp X6 64-bit on your computer, please uninstall the program first.
  2. Download the 9 dll-files here. You don't have to download the "at.asp" file. One is a dlx-file. That needs to be downloaded as well.
  3. Copy the 9 dll/dlx-files to the C:\Windows\SysWOW64 directory. Attention: DO NOT OVERWRITE THE EXISTING DLL-FILES, JUST LEAVE ALL DLL-FILES INTACT. Perhaps if you overwrite the files, it may cause problems with other programs that work in Windows 8. If the file already exists, just make a duplicate file of that one.

  • Now install Corel PaintShop Pro X6 32-bit AND 64-bit.
  • After the installation ALL plugins will be recognised in the 32-bit version. When you don't need plugins for your image/creation, you can easily use the 64-bit version.
  • All other/older Corel PsP versions can be installed now without any problems. After the installation of Corel PaintShop Pro X3, install the patches that are provided by Corel. You can find the patches here. I did this, because for some reason Corel Psp X3 kept crashing, but not anymore when I installed the patches and opened the program as ADMINISTRATOR.
